I painted, and covered the box with papers, found some sewing themed die cuts to decorate, made little pockets to hold the needles and pins, added some thread, scissors, buttons, tape measure etc, and even found some cute little cotton reels which I painted gold for the feet.Added some money, and her present was organised – everyone should have the tools to sew on a lost button! Today I have been working on some teen girl cards, and sorted out my June classes. Tomorrow we will start a new group of cards, til then…..

All stampin Up nature card

Todays card is a favourite. I lean towards nature inspired cards when I am making cards just for fun, and this one is no exception. The designer paper is from Stampin up – it’s a retired collection, but I bought up big when it was available because I fell in love with it!Cardstock is stampin up early espresso and very vanilla, and I used my stampin up designer frames embossing folder and labels collection framelits. I punched out the centre of the embossed oval with an oval punch, and stamped an image from Stampin up organic grace stamp set to set behind the resulting frame.a little linen twine and a stamped and cut out butterfly finished off this one.I have completed a card order today, and now I am starting to organise my january classes, which will be here before I know it! Til tomorrow….

Canvas art number 1

As a bit of a break from cards ( just for today) i thought I would show you all something I have been experimenting with – Canvas Art.I have a few stamps that are shown off to better advantage when used in a scene like this, and it’s been in my mind for a while to try something like this. I used tim holtz ranger distress inks to colour the canvas background, and then stamped directly onto the canvas with some stamps from Oxford Impressions In the Deep. I stamped and coloured the fish seperately onto cardstock and stuck them onto the canvas, and added some netting, string and a brad for some added texture. I edged the canvas with Viva metallic paint in Gold.Hope you like my little diversion – back to cards tomorrow! Til tomorrow….
