Go Press and Foil chipboard shapes…

_MG_0632 (Medium)For todays card I die cut a birdcage out of chipboard from a very old sizzix die that I had. I tried foiling normal cardstock but it is just a little too thin and requires lots and lots of shims, so I decided chipboard is the way to go!. I also foiled a kaisercraft bird wooden piece. The butterfly is just punched out of some foil cardstock I had.I die cut memory box lorelia leaf die, and added some flowers and a ribbon bow . The background papers are from kaisercraft Rose Avenue. Today is Nathans birthday so we are off out to celebrate! til tomorrow…..

Go press and foil…chipboard die cuts..

_MG_0612 (Medium)I have started to experiment a little bit with my Go Press and foil now that I have mastered the basics, and the first thing i wanted to try was die cutting my own chipboard shapes. I have used a thin piece of chipboard here, and used a Kaisercraft dress form die. I used the instruction book and followed the instructions for bought chipboard shapes, and found I just had to add an extra shim – I dint have any waste though, I just ran it through again with some more foil to cover the patches! For the rest of the card i used a Kaisercraft embossing folder, and Kaisercraft Rose Avenue paper ( from a piece of the 12 x 12 paper). Some flowers, lace and ribbon to finish! Til tomorrow….

chipboard foiling..

_MG_2603 (Medium) This is the card I made that inspired the whole theme of the class I taught this week at Paper Flourish. I loved the mix of white and soft sea green. I have used a Stampin Up embossing folder, Paper Rose nested stitched dies, and the sentiment is a Dusty Attic chipboard piece which I foiled in the Go Press and Foil machine. The green foilage is a Memory box die, and all the flowers are from I am Roses. I must fly now as we are off to a garden wedding, hope the weather stays dry! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft mint wishes double z fold cards..

_MG_2623 (Medium)_MG_2625 (Medium)two more double z – fold cards just using a couple of bits of paper from Kaisercraft Mint Wishes collection. The pine cone on the top card pictured is a kaisercraft wooden piece which I foiled in chocolate through the Go Press and foil machine. The Baubles on the second card are fussy cut from a piece of the patterned paper from the collection.I have added a photo under my script to show you what I spent last evening doing! We got in some new Nuvo Products at paper Flourish and I just had to try them out. They are Nuvo glimmer paste and come in a range of colours, but I just picked up the clear and the gold, and so far I have tried it out on wooden pieces, painted on with a paintbrush, dabbed little bits ( mainly to clean my brush off) on flowers, and then I found a stencil, attached it to some cardstock and painted the glimmer paste through the stencil..this technique looks amazing! It dries in about 10 minutes, so no long waiting around for it to dry.IMG_7197

Go Press and Foil Christmas

_MG_2628 (Medium) Some Kaisercraft Christmas Jewel paper collection today, and an experiment using a Go Press and Foils stamp on patterned paper. it worked a treat, and I will be doing this a lot more! The background papers are from the 12 x 12 papers in the Kaisercraft Christmas jewel collection, and I foiled a lovely purple foil onto the patterned paper for the sentiment. a matching collectable and ribbon bow to complete a very simple Christmas card. i have been foiling this morning…. I have been die cutting my own chipboard pieces and foiling them. The secret is in getting the shim correct. I have found that using a piece of the chipboard cardboard is just the right thickness for a shim on my die cutting machine, but everyone’s die cutting machine is different depending on how loose it is so experimentation is essential. If your first run through is patchy, you need a thicker shim and you can just foil over the top with another piece of foil.Til tomorrow…..

Not so shabby….

_MG_1962 (Medium)On the previous post I explained how I made the background paper, and I used an A4 piece of cardstock. This actually gave me enough shabby cardstock to make a second card. For this one I foiled a chipboard birdcage, layered a piece of lace under one of the layers, inked around everything with distress tea dye ink, and then just layered up the flowers, gauze ( from the chemist) die cut leaves ( memory box loralai leaf branch) and ribbon bows. The weather here has been lovely…we even saw some sunshine for a brief time but it has turned cold again today, so this afternoon I am s5taying put in the lounge room, sorting out my dies into a more manageable system of storage and ability to find! Til tomorrow….

_MG_4600 (Medium)_MG_4601 (Medium)two Double Z fold cards today made with Kaisercraft christmas Jewel, papers and collectables.I am doing a lot of this design this year because these will be the ones I send out to family and friends. Todays top card uses papers from the 6″ pad, a punched reindeer, a stripĀ  from the sticker sheet and a Kaisercraft wooden flourish foiled with the go press and foil machine. The lower card also uses papers from the 6″ pad, sticker sheet and a couple of the collectables from the matching pack. I ahve been to work and am home again so i think i will spend a little time this afternoon in the craft room, playing with the new kaiser range I picked up the other day, still christmas, but traditional colours this time! til tomorrow…
