Special Age birthday cards

IMG_1389This week I took a break from all things tidying, and preparing for the craft fair to sit down and create. I had the perfect papers ( a small 6″ paper pad from kaisercraft called With Love) and some new numbers dies from Uniquely Creative to make some very special birthday cards. I took this photo, couldn’t wait for Nathan to snap these as I want to take them to the fair with me. Just going back to the paper pad – it’s an unusual one for Kaisercraft as a lot of the papers are foiled and as you can see I didn’t add too much more to the cards..a little lace, ribbon and my numbers all die cut with either foil or glitter card. Til Next time…..

Making good use of my Die cutting machine!

_MG_4616 (Medium) Although this one looks like a lot of work it is actually deceptively simple..I dry embossed the first layer with a stampin up embossing folder through my big shot machine, and die cut a border, still in white, using a Kaisercraft die . The shoe was also die cut with silver glitter cardstock. Tucked in behind the die cut border is a white die cut circle which I stamped with the birthday sentiment. I die cut some flowers with a Uniquely creative die, and layered pre-made roses in the centres.A pink bow , and finished! I had a great time at the craft fair last weekend catching up with familiar faces and making new friends. I sold a lot of my cards and now I can start filling my boxes all over again, but the next month or so will be concentrated on planning the cruise cards. Til tomorrow…..

_MG_4593 (Medium) I seem to be jumping all over the place with my photos this month, but I had a lot of random bits and pieces on my desk and had a bit of a push to try and use them up, so this is a card I made with leftover bits and pieces from Kaisercraft Miss Betty collection. Lots of layering, and a bit of fussy cutting, and just a little ribbon bow! Today i bought opur puppy a winter coat. She is not sure about it, and sat in one place for a long time ( highly unusual for her!) deciding if she should move or not. I have included a photo here for you all!  Til tomorrow….IMG_0623

All White..

_MG_4595 (Medium) One of my favourite cards to make is all white. I usually do all white for wedding cards when I am not sure of the colour scheme used in the wedding, but this time I made a birthday card. I have a lot of embossing folders, they are great for adding texture – imagine this card without the embossing!.This embossing folder is from Stampin Up as is the birthday stamp sentiment. I die cut the circle, punched out the leaves, and added flowers and a ribbon bow.  I have lots of new things to play with this weekend. This is almost the best part of my job..trying out new stuff! this weekend I will be road testing the Tim Holtz travel stamp platform, and the new magnetic die cutting plate from Couture Creations. I also have new papers – (yay) Memory Lane by kaisercraft – gorgeous pastel greens which I think will also work with Christmas cards later in the year so it doesn’t matter if I don’t use all of it just now. That said I am off to open new things! Til tomorrow….

img_9342-mediumOops! I was all ready to move on to some christmas cards when I found one more card made with Julie Nutting Belle Vie paper (I only purchased 2 papers from this collection)This actually was the last one I made using up the last of the paper.I die cut a scalloped rectangle , and 2 butterflies, inked everything, and added the last of my bead string ( I have bought some more – Kaisercraft make it now, but the length that I have been using came off the dress of a vintage doll)ribbon, bow and sequins to decorate.Early finish from work today, so a bit of time to put my feet up! til tomorrow….

img_9340-mediumimg_9338-mediumimg_9339-mediumimg_9339-mediumHere are the last three cards I made with my 2 pieces of Julie Nutting Belle Vie paper. The bottom card ( which I have accidentally posted twice!)has a little fussy cutting on it and a metal charm as well, the second card has a paper bow made from a punch I bought from stampin up, and the top card has a little bicycle charm. I loved making this card series as I got to dig through forgotten boxes of bits and pieces to decorate them!I have a new plan – put one of those forgotten boxes on my desk and use them up that way!I have been busy today in the craft room fulfilling 3 orders, and working on a class which is coming together beautifully..til tomorrow…..

img_9337-mediumcontinuing on with the cards I made with a couple of sheets of Julie Nutting Belle Vie papers I layered the first paper, after swiping with Tea Dye ink around the edges, and popped a postcard print from the other sheet on top – It had a lovely image on the left so i just added my greeting ( stamped with a stampin up stamp and fussy cut) behind which i glued some fibre wool. a group of flowers and some old beading to finish! Busy day today, long overdue trip to the hairdresser, and a family picnic in the park thios afternoon – hope the weather holds! Til tomorow…
