Two cards today made with Mintay by Carole Together 12 x 12 paper collection. The top card has lots of fussy cutting, and I have just added a few fabric flowers in the lower left corner, as well as a sentiment. The lower card still has a little fussy cut elements, but has more added bits…lace, a chipboard corner ,white die cut leaves, some more flowers, and an extra layer. the chipboard corner blends in better in real life! I have had a lovely crafty week, but now all the cards I have made need inserts as a finishing touch, so that is my job today! Til next time….

This week I have been making some Christmas cards with an Australian theme using Kaisercraft Under the Gum Leaves collection. I have enjoyed using this pretty paper with lots of cute Australian animals , nice sentiments and pretty background papers. Because I made these when I was at our monthly crafting get together I was forced to keep them very simple ..no bling or ribbon to be found in my bag but truly I like them as is so that is how they will stay. Today is a free day so i will be found in the craft room… til next time….

We are deep into Christmas card making now and these are cards I made with my second Christmas paper purchase..Prima Christmas in the country. I just used the A4 pad, and did some fussy cutting. With the addition of a holly die, some Prima holly leaves, lace, metals and some matting these cards came together easily. I have moved away from papers now and have started doing some die cutting and embossing to make full use of all my Christmas dies – those ones will be up after next week when we finish with the Prima! Here are the first Christmas cards for this year! I have used a Stampin Up designer paper collection from last year called Santa’s Workshop, I love it because of the fussy cutting potential. I haven’t bought too much Christmas collections yet this year – I am determined to use up the papers I have ( I think I say that every year!), but I have been working with Prima Christmas in the Country and some gorgeous vintage Stamperia papers this week. The top card has a die cut glittery Christmas tree, and the top and lower card have a layer of embossed white cardstock but other than that its all paper and cardstock.- no ribbon , lace or bling to be seen! Today’s two cards have one thing in common – Butterflies! The top card has layers of black and white patterned paper, with the focus on the top piece of paper which is covered in butterflies. I fussy cut a couple of extra butterflies to pop on top for a bit of dimension. The papers are from Stampin up, but I am not sure if they are still available. The second card is a really simple card, a layer of patterned paper, an embossed piece of white cardstock, and then the butterfly die cut. The dies are all one piece, with the finer die stuck on top of the thicker die to make a shadow effect. It is a Stampin up die called Butterfly Beauty, and brilliant for quick makes. I just added some bling to the centre of the butterflies. Til tomorrow….

Have you all seen Mintay Paper collections? they are gorgeous and I am lucky enough to work in a craft store that stocks them…needless to say when they arrive (it’s like Christmas at work when boxes of stock arrive!) I am beside myself and always end up taking one of everything home! The collection I have used here is called 7th heaven, and we did an all day class at work with them last november, and this is one of the cards I made with my leftovers. A hint of lace, a metal piece cut in half and just peeking out from the oval die cut, and lots of lovely fussy cutting and flowers. Once made I realised this card was not going to fit in an envelope, so I sat down with my ruler and worked out measurements to make a box. I cut a window in the box and backed it with acetate so that I can still see the pretty card! I have made quite a few of these cards in boxes now, and really love the idea of giving them when I am giving cash or a gift voucher for a birthday. I am so glad to say that mum and I brought dad home from hospital yesterday after 2 weeks of worry, a little more frail, but in good spirits and he will build himself back up now that he is home. Thank you all for your wishes and concern. Til tomorrow…..

Todays two cards highlight the Go Press and Foil machine, which I used to foil the Happy Birthday. I did these two cards for a class that I taught, and incorporated some die cutting with Seven paper Doll dies. On the top card I cut up one of the filigreed die cut squares to create fancy borders. Glitter cardstock was used for the leave and flourish dies, and then just added some pretty flowers. I have been missing from here this week as My dad is in hospital and I have been busy visiting him, and working in between. He is still in hospital, having many tests, so my busy life is ongoing, I will get back here as often as time permits , Til then……
