A box for the book cards..

IMG_0762 In the previous post I explained how I made my book cards. After I had made them I realised they needed boxes to put them in so I made a box with a lid , but then realised that the lid needed decorating too, which all adds to the time and cost of making them so for this third book I made the box and cut a huge part of the lid away and backed it with a sheet of acetate so that you can see the box inside and it eliminates the need for decoration. Finally I am happy with the process and ready to make many more! we are going to a wedding in a couple of months so the next book card I make will be a wedding design. Til tomorrow…

_MG_2984 (Medium)_MG_2985 (Medium)There are two photos of the same card today to show more closely the effect I achieved by die cutting a rectangle from the front of my card to create a window to the inside, so the top image is the open card and the lower image is the same card when closed. A lot of the bits and pieces on this card came from the collectables from the kaisercraft limelight collection, but I added a gorgeous pre- made carnation, some punched leaves, rhinestones and a cute little ladybird. _MG_4623 (Medium)_MG_4625 (Medium) I couldn’t resist this cute little Unicorn stamp set by Neat and Tangled. After stamping i coloured with Copic markers, and added flowers and ribbon . The background paper is a from a 6″ pad by lawn fawn. My Puppy Daisy is recovering well from her operation yesterday, she was very sad and sorry for herself last night but seems to have forgotten all about it today and now the challenge is to stop her from jumping up on everything until the wound heals.Meanwhile I have been busy in the kitchen this morning making a big pot of vegetable soup for tea as it is so cold here, and also some lemon butter spread to use up some of our lemon crop. Til tomorrow….

_MG_9440 (Medium)The second card made with kaisercraft Miss Betty collection! Here I have used some of the 12 x 12 sheets, and the matching collectables. The die cut fence is a couture creations die and I inked around all my distressed edges with tea dye ink and added a ribbon bow and little flower. This week has been hugely busy at work putting out all the new pre orders and I must admit I have a few new things to play and experiment with including the new Go Press and foil  foil, emboss and cut dies ( which do all that in one step!). They are on my dining table ready to go in about 5 minutes!! til tomorrow….

My Minds Eye In Bloom.

_MG_4266 (Medium) A natural progression from yesterdays card where I had used My Minds Eye In Bloom patterned paper as the background layer is today’s card which uses all My Minds Eye In Bloom paper. I die cut a gold foil heart, and added black lace and gold ribbon. Everything else is from the paper collection. Yesterday was very productive day in the craft room. I planned out my march classes, and started to experiment with some irridescent medium and stencils to make my own background layers that have a bit of a sheen. This is a work in progress but will share when i have something to show you! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue 8…

_MG_0656 (Medium) We are back to Kaisercraft Rose Avenue, and on todays card I have used a piece of 12 x 12 paper, and trimmed it with lace. The arched window is a kaisercraft wooden piece which I foiled with the go press and foil machine. A couple of die cut leaves and some flowers and a sentiment from the 6″ pad to finish this simple card! A day off today, so I am going to do some creating while it is still relatively cool…it’s going to be 36 C today so by lunch time it will be a bit too hot to do anything but sit under the air conditioner! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft High Tea number 2…

_MG_7025 (Medium)Kaisercraft high Tea collection… this one has a corner of one of the 12 x 12 papers covering the whole card blank, and one of  my resin frames  with a matching tag ( from the 6″ pad) trimmed and stuck underneath it, along with a tiny scrap of lace ( to match the doily print in the diagonal corner) and a ribbon bow. Liquid pearls in the top corner and some kindyglitz on the cups to finish, this one was deceptively simple. I must say all the cards in this range sold at the craft fair, luckily I still have a lot of this collection left so I will be making more in the coming months! Roast is in the oven, housework and shopping list done so after lunch I will be in the craft room if anyone wants me…til tomorrow…..
