Embossing ( and just a die cut)

_MG_4592 (Medium)This is a card that I taught at paper Flourish a couple of months ago. We did a set of three cards all relying on embossing and die cutting with pastel colours. The die I have used is a Seven paper Dolls die which will be available to purchase  from our webstore when it has it’s grand opening on the 1st of May. It has been a busy and exciting time getting the web store up and running and we see the finish line in our sights! The sentiment die is from kaisercraft as are the embossing folders I used. I stuck a row of flowers across the join I had created by combining two different embossed pieces of cardstock. I have always loved pastel colours and the three cards we created in class are favourites of mine. I have rediscovered embossing folders recently, they are an undervalued piece of cardmaking equipment in my opinion!  I have spent a little time today in the craft room creating some June lessons, but really it has been a lazy and relaxing day off. Til tomorrow…..

sympathy cards

img_9368-mediumimg_9369-mediumTodays cards are sympathy cards. I always try to have a few of these ready, usually when people (or I) need them it’s straight away, and if they are for myself the last thing I want to do is sit down and make one. For these two i used a sheet of 3d images that i picked up at the fair, cut out all the images and layered them up with foam pads. A sticker for the sentiment is all I added – less is more for sympathy cards.I am off to work to do a night shift – working nights all week this week so that will be a new experience for me! Christmas with Dies

img_9355-mediumimg_9359-mediumTodays cards rely heavily on dies. The paper I used is by Stampin Up called Home for Christmas and it was released last year, but I still have a bit left. For the top card the sentiment die is a new release from memory box,and the scenery dies are by stampin up also a release from last year, but I didn’t get them in time to use them last year. The bottom card has a window die cut with a memory box die, with one of the stampin up dies behind it. The house and christmas tree were fussy cut from the stampin up paper. We are experiencing wild weather here at the moment, so will post this now in case we lose power again! Til tomorrow….

img_9350-mediumimg_9351-medium A quick break from Christmas cards today while I show you a few cards I made with a couple of sheets of Pebbles Winter Wonderland that I picked up.The top photo shows two cards that I made with a gatefold, covering all panels with the patterned paper, and the Princesses from one of the shet of paper, and the bottom photo shows the more traditional fold and for the focal point I glued on some little dolls that I picked up in our local cheap shop. I die cut the happy birthday’s out of glitter cardstock. Seeing these cards again has just reminded me that I have an order for 3 cards to do this weekend, for great grand daughters. I hope I still have some of those little dolls left because they will be perfect!Til tomorrow….

img_9349-mediumThis is the very last of my October Afternoon Make it Berry collection. I have loved revisiting this collection, but  what is left of it has gone into the surplus to requirements bag, as I can’t keep everything. My craft room is becoming a fire hazard! I made this card as a DL size card ( cardstock 21 x 21 cm and folded in half) to accommodate the tall reindeer image. A bit of offset layering, lace and ribbon and this one is ready to go! A new series tomorrow, Til then ….

img_9344-mediumimg_9348-mediumAlways a challenge photographing gatefold cards, hopefully you all get the gist of these ones!Gatefold shapes are fast becoming my favourite as it’s so easy to decorate inside as well, just a piece of matching paper and a greeting .The paper here is the same as last post – October afternoon Make it berry. A release from a few years ago, and I just used some shiny red ribbon and some rhinestones for texture.tomorrow will be the last card with this collection, then onto something new! Still have a lesson to plan out today in the craft room, then I will be back to more Christmas cards! Til tomorrow….

October Afternoon christmas.

img_9343-mediumimg_9347-mediumI have so much christmas paper. Quite often it happens that I buy the collection but I have already made my Christmas cards, so I keep it for next year, but new paper comes out that I fall in love with.So this year is christmas paper culling time! Of course once I take it out ideas come…this is what happened with this paper. it is October Afternoon Make it Berry and it must be at least three years old.I have made a few cards, and the rest is in a bag ready to move on. I used a stampin up corner punch and ribbon on the top card, and the bottom card just has pretty images layered onto the base paper, and a fussy cut poinsetta decorated with kindyglitz. I taught a full class this morning – yes christmas cards, and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with everyone! Til tomorrow….
